Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Humanities to students across KS2 to KS4, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs
  • Develop engaging and inclusive lesson plans that support the school’s therapeutic and academic approach
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a high-quality, innovative curriculum
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and mental health through pastoral care and guidance
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic student development
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support
  • Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that values teamwork and continuous learning

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QT) with a good honours degree in a relevant subject
  • Recent experience teaching Humanities to students across the primary or secondary age range
  • Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience working in special education settings
  • Familiarity with Education Health and Care (EHC) plans
  • Experience with therapeutic approaches to learning
  • Background in pastoral care or student support
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
