The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Design and Technology Technician to join our highly regarded department. This role is central to supporting practical learning, ensuring a safe and well-resourced workshop environment, and contributing to the success of our outstanding department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing, ordering and managing materials and resources required for practical lessons
• Maintaining machinery, tools and equipment to ensure the highest standards of health and safety
• Organising and managing the efficient storage of resources
• Supporting teaching staff and students during practical lessons
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop
• Assisting with the development and implementation of practical learning activities
• Keeping accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance
• Collaborating with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Practical workshop experience
• Strong awareness of health and safety standards
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with machinery and tools commonly used in a Design and Technology workshop

Preferred

• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
• Experience with 3D printing or laser cutting equipment
• Willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies and software
• Previous experience in a school or educational setting
