The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a visionary Law and Business curriculum across A-Level and Applied BTEC (Level 3), challenging students to excel in statutory interpretation and market analysis.
  • Lead the planning of modules such as Criminal/Public Law and Marketing/Finance, ensuring relevance to real-world readiness.
  • Collaborate with partner institutions to ensure equitable and enriching opportunities for all students.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that foster a passion for legal debate and business innovation.
  • Act as a role model for outstanding classroom practice, promoting a confident and intellectually curious learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment and lead internal verification processes for Pearson BTEC.
  • Manage departmental resources effectively, providing access to current legal materials and digital business case studies.
  • Organise participation in the Bar Mock Trial Competition and develop links with local legal firms.
  • Lead the Young Enterprise Company Programme and coordinate visits to local corporate hubs.
  • Support students with LNAT preparation, UCAS applications, and professional apprenticeship pathways.
  • Contribute to the pastoral system as a Form Tutor, embodying the school's commitment to compassion and student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Law and Business Studies at A-Level or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, corporate strategy, and business practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and module development.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or partnership.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities such as debating, mock trials, or enterprise programmes.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and business case studies.
  • Experience with SEND support and differentiation strategies.
  • Experience in academic leadership or departmental management.
