Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the science department to maintain and enhance its high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver outstanding classroom practice and inspire students to achieve their full potential in science.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies and support continuous professional development for staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science across the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary learning.
  • Manage and oversee the use of state-of-the-art science facilities and resources.
  • Support student progression in A level subjects including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive department culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure high academic achievement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a science department.
  • Excellent classroom teaching skills and a strong track record of student achievement.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
  • Commitment to developing high standards of learning and teaching.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff and resources.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A level in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • A background in innovative science education and curriculum development.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
