The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic Design & Technology department as a Teacher on maternity cover. This role offers the chance to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, while contributing to a team committed to innovation, collaboration, and high-quality teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Design & Technology
- Support students in developing practical skills in resistant materials, textiles, electronics, CAD/CAM, and food
- Foster creativity, problem-solving, and confidence through hands-on projects
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and improve teaching standards
- Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and innovative teaching strategies
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a wide range of courses at Key Stage 4
- Promote the core values of kindness, resilience, and pride within the department
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Design & Technology
- Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong knowledge of Design & Technology subjects, including resistant materials, textiles, electronics, CAD/CAM, and food
- Commitment to student achievement and inclusive teaching
- Experience in delivering high-quality, innovative lessons
Preferred
- Experience with GCSE Design and Technology, Engineering Tech Award, and Construction
- Familiarity with Hospitality and Catering courses
- Experience in a supportive and collaborative team environment
- Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of learning
