The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality music education to students across all key stages. You will inspire creativity, foster musical talent, and contribute to a dynamic and successful Expressive Arts Faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in AQA GCSE and A level Music courses.
  • Collaborate with a strong and experienced team of Expressive Arts faculty members.
  • Organise and lead termly concerts, music festivals, and masterclasses.
  • Utilise a well-equipped music department with specialist resources and instruments.
  • Encourage student participation in ensembles such as Concert Band, Brass Group, String Group, and Rock Band.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and inclusion within the department.
  • Work closely with peripatetic teachers to enhance student learning and performance opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in music education.
  • Strong knowledge of the AQA GCSE and A level Music curriculum.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality music lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Ability to manage and lead a range of performance and ensemble activities.
  • Commitment to student success and a positive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to music ensembles or performance groups.
  • Experience with Gold Artsmark award or similar music accreditation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in reducing teacher workload and promoting effective teaching practices.
  • Passion for music and a commitment to the arts in education.
