Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging science lessons that promote student achievement and curiosity.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies to enhance learning and support student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective science curriculum.
  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and resources to support practical science activities.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of scientific concepts and their real-world applications.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of science teaching and learning.
  • Encourage a love of science through interactive and hands-on learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in science education.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective science lessons and support student learning.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science, with a passion for the subject.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Commitment to raising student achievement and fostering a positive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A-level sciences or post-16 science qualifications.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and professional development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and support staff.
