The Opportunity:
As Director of Faculty, you will lead and manage a diverse range of subjects, ensuring the highest quality of provision and outcomes for students. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful institution and play a key role in shaping educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a group of subject departments across a range of disciplines.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across History and Politics, Geography, Sociology, Philosophy, Maths, Law, Physics, Computing and IT.
- Support the development of staff and promote best practice across the faculty.
- Oversee the implementation of the school’s strategic goals and ensure alignment with the institution’s mission.
- Act as a key member of the Upper Management Team and contribute to cross-college leadership initiatives.
- Take responsibility for the College Vocational Lead role and ensure the integration of vocational elements into the curriculum.
- Monitor and report on student progress, outcomes, and achievement across the faculty.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the faculty.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably within a sixth form college.
- Strong track record in managing and developing subject departments.
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and across the institution.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role with cross-college responsibilities.
- Background in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with vocational education and training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the S7 consortium and its training initiatives.
