The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head of Psychology to lead a department and inspire students across the two-year A Level course. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of psychology education in a supportive and forward-thinking academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a department of three staff, including mentoring an ECT.
- Deliver high-quality teaching across KS3 and KS4 Biology, and A Level Psychology.
- Engage fully in the extra-curricular life of the school and run enrichment sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative teaching approach.
- Support the academic and pastoral development of students across the school.
- Contribute to the wider school community through leadership and professional development.
- Stay up to date with current research and developments in the field of Psychology.
- Ensure all students receive a challenging and inspiring curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Psychology and Biology.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and Biology.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting ECTs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Experience with A Level Psychology curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passion for extra-curricular engagement and student development.
- Familiarity with United Learning’s educational philosophy and values.
