The Opportunity:

As the Director of Learning Science, you will lead a dynamic and collaborative Science department, shaping the curriculum and driving academic excellence across all Key Stages. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a high-achieving Science department across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Implement and monitor an engaging and rigorous curriculum aligned with the MYP/IB framework.
• Support and mentor Science teachers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Collaborate with subject teams to share best practices and pedagogical strategies.
• Ensure the delivery of outstanding Science education that inspires curiosity and real-world application.
• Promote and lead co-curricular activities that enhance student engagement with Science.
• Work closely with leadership to drive whole-school improvement and raise attainment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in leading a Science department within an IB or inquiry-based learning framework.
• Strong track record of raising student attainment and academic outcomes.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of students and staff.
• High level of energy, motivation, and resilience to lead a core subject area.

Preferred

• Experience in delivering or leading the MYP/IB Science curriculum.
• Background in co-curricular or extra-curricular Science initiatives.
• Experience in teacher training or professional development.
