The Opportunity:
As the Director of Learning - Humanities, you will lead and inspire a successful team of professionals while driving academic excellence and student progress. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of learning and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Humanities department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to raise standards across all key stages.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
- Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives.
- Engage with students to foster a love of learning and a strong sense of curiosity and ambition.
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive learning culture within the school.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of curriculum and assessment strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in Humanities.
- Strong track record of improving student outcomes and academic standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers and support staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with Key Stage 3, 4, and Post-16 teaching and assessment.
- Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation.
- Knowledge of international curricula such as the IB Diploma.
