The Opportunity:

As the Director of Learning - Humanities, you will lead and inspire a successful team of professionals while driving academic excellence and student progress. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of learning and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Humanities department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to raise standards across all key stages.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives.
  • Engage with students to foster a love of learning and a strong sense of curiosity and ambition.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive learning culture within the school.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of curriculum and assessment strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in Humanities.
  • Strong track record of improving student outcomes and academic standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with Key Stage 3, 4, and Post-16 teaching and assessment.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation.
  • Knowledge of international curricula such as the IB Diploma.
