The Opportunity:

As the Head of PE, you will lead the school's Physical Education department and play a key role in promoting a lifelong love of sport and fitness. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive PE curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Promote and support the school's football academy, contributing to its continued success and growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate PE and sport into the wider school ethos and community.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring the best possible outcomes in both academic and sporting achievements.
  • Manage and maintain the school's state-of-the-art PE facilities and equipment.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, motivation, and excellence in all aspects of PE and sport.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional development for PE staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Physical Education at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of sport and PE curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a sports academy or extracurricular sports programs.
  • Experience with teaching at Key Stage 5 level.
  • Knowledge of sports qualifications and accreditation.
  • Experience in staff development and training.
