The Opportunity:
As the Head of PE, you will lead the school's Physical Education department and play a key role in promoting a lifelong love of sport and fitness. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive PE curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Promote and support the school's football academy, contributing to its continued success and growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate PE and sport into the wider school ethos and community.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring the best possible outcomes in both academic and sporting achievements.
- Manage and maintain the school's state-of-the-art PE facilities and equipment.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, motivation, and excellence in all aspects of PE and sport.
- Provide ongoing support and professional development for PE staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Physical Education at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of sport and PE curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a sports academy or extracurricular sports programs.
- Experience with teaching at Key Stage 5 level.
- Knowledge of sports qualifications and accreditation.
- Experience in staff development and training.
