The Opportunity:

As the Director of Maths Learning, you will lead a high-achieving maths department and drive improvements in teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum and inspire students in a school known for exceptional outcomes and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the maths curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to maintain high standards and raise student achievement.
  • Support and mentor maths staff to enhance their practice and professional development.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to implement school-wide strategies for academic success.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in maths education.
  • Work with external partners to provide enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and national curriculum requirements.
  • Contribute to the leadership programme that develops student character and leadership skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching maths up to GCSE level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a successful maths department.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with a track record of improving student outcomes.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues to achieve targets.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum innovation and creative teaching methods.
  • Background in school leadership or middle management roles.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies’ values and educational approach.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust environment.
