The Opportunity:
As the Director of Primary Education, you will provide strategic leadership across primary academies, driving school improvement and ensuring high standards in teaching, curriculum, and assessment. This role is ideal for an experienced leader passionate about education and committed to excellence in primary learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight of educational standards across the Trust’s primary phase.
- Support and challenge academy leaders to deliver sustained improvement in teaching and learning.
- Focus on key areas such as early reading, phonics, writing, and mathematics to secure strong outcomes for all pupils.
- Monitor and evaluate performance, using data to inform improvement strategies and interventions.
- Develop leadership capacity across academies, embedding the Trust’s values and behaviours.
- Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared accountability across the organisation.
- Engage with stakeholders including Principals, senior leaders, Governors, and external partners.
- Represent the Trust professionally and contribute to collaborative networks within and beyond the organisation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven senior leadership experience in primary education with a strong track record of school improvement.
- Expertise in curriculum, assessment, and the key drivers of success in primary education.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build trust and work effectively with senior leaders.
- Experience in driving improvement and ensuring high outcomes for all pupils, including disadvantaged students and those with SEND.
- Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate performance and use data to guide improvement.
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, and high expectations for all learners.
Preferred
- Experience in leading multi-academy trusts or similar organisational structures.
- Knowledge of educational policy and strategic development in the UK context.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
- Familiarity with the principles of system improvement and collaboration across academies.
