The Opportunity:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in shaping the early learning experiences of young children. This is a dynamic and impactful position that offers the chance to contribute to a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a welcoming early years environment, ensuring all activities are set up and that materials and equipment are safe and clean.
- Contribute to the planning of learning activities, assisting staff in delivery and adapting tasks to support each child's unique development needs.
- Monitor and report on responses to activities, contributing to assessment procedures and maintaining accurate routine records.
- Support the Teacher/Early Years Professional to ensure activities run smoothly, promoting positive behaviour and handling any incidents promptly in line with trust policy.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher, contributing to the assessment of needs and the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Act as a keyworker for designated children, establishing positive, trusted relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Provide short-term cover supervision for the class in the temporary absence of the Teacher or Early Years Professional.
- Attend to the personal, emotional, and social needs of the children to ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
- Proven experience working within an Early Years setting, with a solid understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Additional qualifications in child development or special educational needs.
