The Opportunity:

As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. You will be responsible for safeguarding and child protection matters, working closely with students and providing guidance to staff. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee safeguarding and child protection procedures across the school.
• Provide advice and support to staff on all safeguarding-related matters.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure the welfare of children.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Attend relevant training and stay up to date with safeguarding best practices.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team in implementing safeguarding strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of safeguarding policies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Extensive experience in safeguarding, ideally within an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of confidentiality.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
• Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people.

Preferred

• Experience working in a school or similar educational environment.
• Familiarity with the DFE guidance "Keeping Children Safe in Education".
• Experience with child protection policies and procedures.
• Experience in managing safeguarding cases and supporting vulnerable students.
