The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. You will be responsible for safeguarding and child protection matters, working closely with students and providing guidance to staff. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and forward-thinking school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee safeguarding and child protection procedures across the school.
- Provide advice and support to staff on all safeguarding-related matters.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure the welfare of children.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Attend relevant training and stay up to date with safeguarding best practices.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team in implementing safeguarding strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of safeguarding policies.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Extensive experience in safeguarding, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or similar educational environment.
- Familiarity with the DFE guidance "Keeping Children Safe in Education".
- Experience with child protection policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing safeguarding cases and supporting vulnerable students.
