The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead a small department and inspire students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at GCSE level. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic department and contribute to a school committed to academic excellence and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all Science subjects.
- Deliver and develop Biology, Chemistry, and Physics curricula at GCSE level to the highest standard.
- Monitor and support the professional development of departmental staff.
- Promote and enhance extracurricular engagement in Science within the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and educational philosophy.
- Contribute to school life and take an active role in the wider community.
- Ensure the department consistently achieves excellent student outcomes and progress.
- Support the implementation of innovative teaching and learning strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience of teaching GCSE Science to a high standard.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a school department.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Commitment to student achievement and academic excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
