The Opportunity:

As a Director of Studies, you will lead academic strategy, drive student performance, and shape the future of education at a school that values excellence, leadership, and global engagement. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about curriculum development and academic leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee academic strategy in collaboration with senior leadership and quality assurance teams.
  • Ensure the design and delivery of a balanced, challenging curriculum aligned with IGCSE, IB, A-Level, and Chinese examination standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, ensuring high standards and a positive learning culture across the school.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of whole-school curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Manage student performance tracking systems to support teaching quality and curriculum refinement.
  • Support admissions and marketing initiatives, promoting the school’s vision and educational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional development among teaching staff.
  • Promote student achievement and well-being through curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • University-educated with an Honours Degree and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in academic leadership and curriculum development.
  • Strong understanding of international curricula (IB, A-Level) and their integration with Chinese education standards.
  • Experience in strategic planning, school operations, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Preferred

  • Further qualification in education or leadership.
  • Experience with school quality improvement programmes and performance evaluation.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and its application in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in school admissions, marketing, and public relations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, students, and staff.
