The Opportunity:

As a Domestic Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of allocated areas within the boarding house. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and committed to delivering high standards of service in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean allocated areas including dining rooms, bathrooms, dormitories, classrooms, and stairways using appropriate methods.
• Change bedding and occasionally turn or change mattresses as required.
• Assist with setting and clearing tables during meal times in the boarding house.
• Stay up to date with cleaning practices and complete Health & Safety training when required.
• Lift and move reasonably heavy items such as cleaning equipment and laundry bags.
• Clean window interiors and use a stepladder when necessary.
• Report any defects, safety hazards, or accidents immediately to the Housekeeper/Matron.
• Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Housekeeper/Matron.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in domestic services, housekeeping, or a similar function.
• Understanding of cleaning practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility and willingness to cover for absent staff when required.
• Good time management and organisational skills.

Preferred

• Experience in a boarding house or similar environment.
• Previous experience with Health & Safety training.
• Initiative and ability to use own judgment in day-to-day tasks.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the overall environment of the school.
