Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality KS3 Drama lessons that are engaging and aligned with the school’s curriculum.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and progression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission of "Excellence for All."
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of the essential wider curriculum (EWC), including extracurricular activities.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help learners achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of drama education and share best practices with the department.
  • Contribute to staff development and professional learning opportunities within the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in KS3 Drama.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for drama education.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering extracurricular drama activities.
  • Background in performing arts or related fields.
  • Experience with teaching students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Familiarity with the Ofsted outstanding framework and its principles.
