The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our highly successful and collaborative department. The role involves teaching KS3-5 English and contributing to the school's mission of academic excellence and inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3-5 students, ensuring a rigorous and engaging curriculum.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance departmental effectiveness.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of the essential wider curriculum (EWC) and extracurricular activities.
- Support students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) through inclusive teaching methods.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English at KS3-5 level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to the school's values of excellence and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Familiarity with the Ofsted outstanding framework and successful school improvement strategies.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives or curriculum development.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
