The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Drama Teacher to provide maternity cover starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
  • Support students in developing their performance and communication skills through a varied and challenging curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience for all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, staff development, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote drama and the arts.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in drama education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in drama education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality drama lessons.
  • Experience working with students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching drama at key stages 3 and 4.
  • Experience with curriculum development and the use of innovative teaching techniques.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular drama activities.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
