Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative science lessons to students aged 11–18.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student well-being and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote the value of science education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science, preferably in Chemistry or Physics.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science to students aged 11–18.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and student well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with the wider school community.

Preferred

  • Experience with educational research and evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with teaching students with special educational needs or those from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with professional development and leadership opportunities within a school setting.
