Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes student engagement and progression.
- Manage and maintain specialist facilities and equipment in the Food Technology department.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental pedagogy and student outcomes.
- Support students in achieving excellent results and developing practical skills.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Food Technology.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience in Food Technology.
- A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject.
- Experience of teaching Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred
- Experience of leading a department or taking on a subject leadership role.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
