Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes student engagement and progression.
  • Manage and maintain specialist facilities and equipment in the Food Technology department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental pedagogy and student outcomes.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and developing practical skills.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Food Technology.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience in Food Technology.
  • A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject.
  • Experience of teaching Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of leading a department or taking on a subject leadership role.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
