The Opportunity:

As a PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the physical and personal development of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons that inspire and engage students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes physical literacy, health, and lifelong participation in sport.
  • Manage and lead a range of extracurricular activities, including clubs and fixtures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the continuous improvement of the PE department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all students achieve their full potential.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, safety, and respect within the PE department.
  • Ensure all teaching and learning activities are in line with the school's values and safeguarding policies.
  • Support students in developing key life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a PE-related subject.
  • Proven experience of teaching PE at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of current PE pedagogy and curriculum developments.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience of leading or contributing to a subject department.
  • Experience in developing and delivering extracurricular PE activities.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with the Beacon Academy Trust and its values.
