The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide essential support to students with specific learning needs. This role is vital in helping students reach their full potential and is a key part of the school’s commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with learning difficulties and emotional needs through tailored assistance.
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure effective learning strategies are implemented.
- Assist in the delivery of individual and group learning sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Participate in staff development and training sessions.
- Collaborate with parents and other professionals to support student success.
- Ensure the safe and well-managed use of school facilities during working hours.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with learning difficulties and emotional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
- Flexibility to work term time plus 1 week of CPD.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience with special educational needs (SEN) support.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
