The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide essential support to students with specific learning needs. This role is vital in helping students reach their full potential and is a key part of the school’s commitment to inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning difficulties and emotional needs through tailored assistance.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure effective learning strategies are implemented.
  • Assist in the delivery of individual and group learning sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff development and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals to support student success.
  • Ensure the safe and well-managed use of school facilities during working hours.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with learning difficulties and emotional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Flexibility to work term time plus 1 week of CPD.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with special educational needs (SEN) support.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
