The Opportunity:

The Early Years and Primary Performing Arts Coordinator will lead a high-quality performing arts programme that integrates Music, Drama, and Dance. This role is ideal for someone passionate about curriculum leadership, student development, and fostering a vibrant performing arts culture across Early Years and Primary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, lead, and continually improve the Primary Performing Arts programme, ensuring a clear scope and sequence from Early Years through upper Primary.
  • Align learning to the PYP framework, supporting transdisciplinary learning and developing the PYP learner profile through performing arts.
  • Ensure consistency of expectations, assessment approaches, and progression across year levels and campuses.
  • Curate and manage resources (instruments, costumes/props, audio equipment), ensuring safe and responsible use.
  • Teach Music and Drama (dance incorporated where possible) to allocated year groups, planning engaging lessons that develop technique, creativity, and performance skills.
  • Plan and lead an annual schedule of performances and showcases, including seasonal concerts, year-level performances, and school events.
  • Coach students in performance readiness, including stage presence, ensemble skills, and confidence.
  • Develop and oversee co-curricular performing arts opportunities such as choir, drama club, and dance groups.
  • Build a positive performing arts culture that celebrates effort, teamwork, and joy in learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong experience in teaching and leading performing arts programmes in an international school setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of PYP curriculum and transdisciplinary learning.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage large-scale events and performances.
  • Experience in developing and implementing progression frameworks for performing arts across age groups.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families.

Preferred

  • Experience with music, drama, and dance integration in early childhood and primary education.
  • Background in curriculum leadership or programme development.
  • Experience with co-curricular and extracurricular performing arts activities.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Multilingual skills or experience working with multilingual learners.
