The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Early Years Receptionist & Administrator to provide a positive and welcoming first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils, and staff. This role is central to ensuring smooth communication, efficient administration, and a safe and supportive learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain effective communication between parents and staff
  • Support pupil registration and administration, including maintaining class lists
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and manage petty cash and budgets
  • Support safeguarding procedures and visitor management
  • Administer prescribed and one-off medicines in line with school procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with administrative policies
  • Assist with general office duties and support the smooth running of the Early Years department
  • Use IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel, to support administrative tasks

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in early years
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Preferred

  • Experience with Management Information Systems
  • Previous experience in administration or reception roles
  • Flexibility to work on a fixed-term contract and during term-time
  • Knowledge of school policies and procedures
