The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Early Years Receptionist & Administrator to provide a positive and welcoming first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils, and staff. This role is central to ensuring smooth communication, efficient administration, and a safe and supportive learning environment for young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain effective communication between parents and staff
- Support pupil registration and administration, including maintaining class lists
- Oversee the ordering of supplies and manage petty cash and budgets
- Support safeguarding procedures and visitor management
- Administer prescribed and one-off medicines in line with school procedures
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with administrative policies
- Assist with general office duties and support the smooth running of the Early Years department
- Use IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel, to support administrative tasks
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in early years
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Preferred
- Experience with Management Information Systems
- Previous experience in administration or reception roles
- Flexibility to work on a fixed-term contract and during term-time
- Knowledge of school policies and procedures
