The Opportunity:

As an ELL Teacher, you will support English Language Learners in developing academic language proficiency to succeed in the British curriculum. This role is central to the school’s mission of providing a multilingual, research-based, and globally connected learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support ELL students in developing academic language proficiency and confidence.
• Deliver targeted instruction using cutting-edge digital language tools and interactive learning platforms.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, the Inclusion team, and leadership to integrate language development across subjects.
• Engage with parents and external specialists to ensure a holistic language learning experience.
• Implement structured intervention programs tailored to individual student needs.
• Stay up to date with best practices in ELL/EAL education and current policy in the UAE, UK, and globally.
• Contribute to the school’s research-driven, future-focused, and student-centered educational approach.
• Participate actively in the school’s extra-curricular programme and community-based events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• UK approved ELL/EAL qualification relevant to working with young people and children in a school environment and a relevant PGCE
• 3 years’ experience as an ELL/EAL Teacher in an international setting within a high-performing school
• A track record of improving the ELL/EAL provision in a school setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with parents, leadership teams, and external partners
• Commitment to research-driven, future-focused, and student-centered education

Preferred

• Experience working in a through-school environment (age 3-18)
• Up to date knowledge of best practice in ELL/EAL and current policy in UAE, UK and globally
• A passion for inclusion, ELL/EAL and equity, ensuring all students can thrive in an academically challenging and supportive environment
• A growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focused
