The Opportunity:

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the effective management of employee relations across a growing organization. This role offers the chance to influence and shape people management practices, contribute to policy development, and support managers in building strong, positive relationships with staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues.
  • Support managers in conducting fair and timely investigations and preparing required documentation.
  • Advise and coach line managers on effective people management and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and toolkits.
  • Contribute to the delivery of employee relations projects and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with managers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide guidance on managing unplanned absence, probation, and other employee relations matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases in a complex environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and relevant case law.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in all work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and train line managers effectively.
  • Experience working in an education or care environment is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Experience with managing employee relations in large, multi-site organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the legislative and regulatory frameworks specific to education and care settings.
  • Experience with HR software and digital tools for managing employee relations processes.
