The Opportunity:

As an Engineering or Design Technology Teacher, you will contribute to the development of a centre of excellence, supporting students aged 13–19 through a range of qualifications and work placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a range of qualifications including Cambridge Nationals, GCSE, BTEC, T Level, and A-level courses.
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Director and UTC staff to develop and enhance the Engineering & Manufacturing and Creative & Digital Media curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with employer and university expectations.
  • Engage with industry partners to secure and manage work placements for students.
  • Support the development of early careers teachers within a dynamic, employer-led environment.
  • Ensure effective partnership working across the school and with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on student achievement and progression.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Engineering or Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching 13–19-year-olds in a technical or vocational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant qualifications including Cambridge Nationals, GCSE, BTEC, T Level, and A-level.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience with employer engagement and work placement coordination.
  • Background in a University Technical College or similar institution.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL) or similar.
