The Opportunity:
Join a pioneering institution dedicated to delivering high-quality education in Engineering and Design Technology. As an Engineering or Design Technology Teacher, you will contribute to the development of a centre of excellence, supporting students aged 13–19 through a range of qualifications and work placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of qualifications including Cambridge Nationals, GCSE, BTEC, T Level, and A-level courses.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Director and UTC staff to develop and enhance the Engineering & Manufacturing and Creative & Digital Media curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with employer and university expectations.
- Engage with industry partners to secure and manage work placements for students.
- Support the development of early careers teachers within a dynamic, employer-led environment.
- Ensure effective partnership working across the school and with external stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on student achievement and progression.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Engineering or Design Technology.
- Experience teaching 13–19-year-olds in a technical or vocational environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant qualifications including Cambridge Nationals, GCSE, BTEC, T Level, and A-level.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external partners.
Preferred
- Experience with employer engagement and work placement coordination.
- Background in a University Technical College or similar institution.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL) or similar.
