The Opportunity:

As an Engineering Teacher, you will inspire and challenge students aged 16-19 to reach their full potential. You will deliver outstanding teaching and learning, ensuring students are equipped for future success in engineering and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Engineering to students aged 16-19.
  • Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to monitor student progress and attainment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students to help them succeed in their studies and future careers.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Engineering to ensure a relevant and dynamic curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in Engineering, either through teaching or industry.
  • A commitment to working with young people and a passion for education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or training in a sixth form or further education setting.
  • Experience with Applied Technical Qualifications or BTEC courses.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Experience with character education or pastoral support programmes.
