Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons to 19+ learners.
  • Plan and design engaging and effective teaching resources and learning materials.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum improvements.
  • Support students in developing essential literacy and communication skills.
  • Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.
  • Contribute to the wider college community through enrichment activities and student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English.
  • Strong knowledge of English curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching 19+ learners in a further education setting.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and digital resources.
  • Previous involvement in curriculum development or leadership roles.
