Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective GCSE and Functional Skills Maths lessons to a range of students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall success of the maths team.
  • Support students with individual learning needs and help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching methods and maths education trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.
  • Experience in delivering lessons to a diverse range of students.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments.

Preferred

  • Experience in further education or tertiary education settings.
  • Familiarity with current maths teaching strategies and resources.
  • Experience with online learning platforms or blended learning approaches.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
