The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supporting students, staff, and families. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support whole school behaviour systems and policy implementation.
  • Develop and lead interventions for students whose behaviour is a barrier to learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour, restorative practice, and student reintegration.
  • Support colleagues in managing student behaviour that disrupts teaching and learning.
  • Engage with families and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Assist in planning and delivering planned and unplanned interventions.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, attendance, and conduct across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong pastoral instincts and a compassionate approach to student support.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in behaviour support or a related field.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Understanding of restorative practice and student reintegration.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusion processes and SEND support.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Familiarity with external agencies and partnership working.
