The Opportunity:
As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supporting students, staff, and families. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support whole school behaviour systems and policy implementation.
- Develop and lead interventions for students whose behaviour is a barrier to learning.
- Promote positive behaviour, restorative practice, and student reintegration.
- Support colleagues in managing student behaviour that disrupts teaching and learning.
- Engage with families and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Assist in planning and delivering planned and unplanned interventions.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, attendance, and conduct across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong pastoral instincts and a compassionate approach to student support.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in behaviour support or a related field.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Understanding of restorative practice and student reintegration.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusion processes and SEND support.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Familiarity with external agencies and partnership working.
