The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lecturer - Welding and Fabrication to deliver high-quality teaching and support students in achieving excellence in engineering. This role is central to ensuring a positive and impactful learning experience for students at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and practical welding and fabrication lessons to students at various levels.
- Develop and update course materials to ensure they meet industry standards and curriculum requirements.
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students to enhance their learning outcomes and confidence.
- Collaborate with other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure they meet learning objectives and industry benchmarks.
- Promote a culture of safety and best practice within the engineering department.
- Support students in preparing for industry certifications and apprenticeship opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, welding, or a related field.
- Proven teaching or training experience in a further education or vocational setting.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student-centered learning and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering apprenticeship programs or working with industry partners.
- Familiarity with CAD software and modern engineering tools.
- Experience in curriculum development or assessment design.
- DBS clearance or willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
