The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Secondary Science Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning in its Secondary School for August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success while contributing to a vibrant and supportive educational community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning across Science subjects, including KS3 Science and IGCSE Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the English National Curriculum and school standards.
  • Provide pastoral support to students as a tutor, fostering a caring and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the Extracurricular programme by leading or assisting in activities and events.
  • Engage with the House system, supporting competitions and events in the allocated House.
  • Participate in the school’s Continuing Professional Development Programme to enhance teaching practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualifications.
  • Experience teaching KS3 Science and IGCSE Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and/or other subjects such as KS3 Maths.
  • Familiarity with the English National Curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of personalised learning, feedback, and assessment.
  • Commitment to student development and pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Experience with the House system and extracurricular activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student well-being and character development.
  • Experience in a British international school or similar educational environment.
  • Passion for professional growth and development.
