The Opportunity:

As an English Literature Teacher, you will design and deliver a dynamic curriculum that nurtures students' analytical and communication skills. You will also lead a weekly debate club and support students in competing internationally. This role is ideal for someone passionate about literature, education, and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver an engaging English Language and Literature curriculum aligned with IB standards.
• Plan, prepare, and develop lesson plans, unit plans, and teaching materials.
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment.
• Provide meaningful feedback to students, parents, and school administration.
• Collaborate with the Secondary School team to enhance student learning and achievement.
• Lead and manage a weekly debate club, teaching debating and public speaking skills.
• Accompany students to local and international debating competitions.
• Implement student-centered, project-based, and collaborative learning strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in English Literature, English Studies, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification and minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a mainstream school.
• Fluency in English at C2 level or above.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of student learning and the ability to support diverse learners.
• Experience in leading debating clubs or activities for young people.

Preferred

• IB teaching experience.
• Confident use of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Experience in developing and delivering student-centered curriculum.
