The Opportunity:

As Vice Principal - Pastoral and Wellbeing Leader, you will lead the strategic development and daily implementation of systems that support students’ emotional, social, and personal development. This role is key to ensuring a positive, inclusive school climate aligned with the school’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of School in strategic leadership and operational management of the school
  • Lead and oversee the whole-school pastoral care structure and wellbeing framework
  • Monitor students’ emotional and social development and ensure early identification of concerns
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions for students with behavioural challenges
  • Lead and manage issues related to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and child protection
  • Guide and line-manage pastoral leaders and teams, ensuring consistency in pastoral practices
  • Organise and deliver professional development on pastoral care, behaviour management, and safeguarding
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture across the school and oversee the My Concern reporting platform

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 5 years working as a teacher
  • Middle Leadership experience, preferably in the field of pastoral care and wellbeing
  • Understanding of the importance of wellbeing in relation to student flourishing
  • Understanding of Positive Psychology and other approaches to positive behaviour management

Preferred

  • Experience in policy development and review
  • Experience with international best practices in safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience in managing and leading pastoral teams
