House Parent – Boarding House role for male candidates seeking a supportive and impactful position in student care.

The Opportunity:

As a House Parent, you will provide essential pastoral care and leadership to male boarders, ensuring their wellbeing and creating a safe, positive living environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student development and committed to safeguarding practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and happiness of male boarders in line with house policies.
  • Supervise daily routines, including wake-ups, meals, study periods, and lights out.
  • Maintain hygiene, tidiness, and safety within boarding areas and respond to concerns promptly.
  • Lead and manage the house team, delegating tasks effectively and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Liaise with medical and support services on student welfare and communicate regularly with parents.
  • Organize house events, manage dorm allocations, and oversee discipline and rewards procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and daily handovers while managing the house budget and inventories.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in teaching, counselling, or related field.
  • Experience in pastoral care, student supervision, or boarding environments.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and boarding house standards.

Preferred

  • Degree in leadership or management.
  • First Aid, mentoring, or counselling background.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Word, Excel, and administrative systems.
  • Fluent English (C1–C2 level).
