The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning that drives student progress. This role offers the chance to lead curriculum development, support student outcomes, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging English lessons that foster a love of learning and academic progress.
  • Coordinate and lead the curriculum sequence and lesson design to ensure alignment with school goals.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to other teachers within the English department.
  • Implement and contribute to ongoing professional development and pedagogical improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure rapid and sustained academic growth.
  • Collaborate with Subject Team Leaders and the Collegiate Trust Education Team to enhance teaching practices.
  • Participate in regular CPD sessions and utilise additional non-contact time for pedagogical development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Completed the Early Career Framework (ECF)
  • Proven experience as a specialist English teacher
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Commitment to student progress and academic excellence

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or team coordination
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and pedagogical development
  • Experience with the use of technology in the classroom
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or student enrichment programs
