The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a cohesive and integrated approach to English education in collaboration with other departments.
- Work with external partners to create programs and initiatives that enrich the learning experience beyond the classroom.
- Support and mentor teachers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee the curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards and aligns with the school’s vision and goals.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and interventions where needed.
- Represent the department at school-level meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Promote a love of English and literature among students, encouraging engagement and enthusiasm for the subject.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in English education.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the English curriculum and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and management abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team of teachers.
