The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that inspire a love of learning across all Key Stages.
- Build strong relationships with students and families to support their academic and personal development.
- Act as a Form Tutor, helping students settle into the day and develop key learning attributes.
- Participate in and contribute to the school’s innovative Professional Development Programme, including regular CPD and non-contact time for pedagogical improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the school.
- Support the school’s cultural curriculum through involvement in trips, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure a calm and positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Implement and maintain high standards of behaviour and respect in line with the school’s values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or the ability to obtain it before the start of the role.
- Experience teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Commitment to student progress and academic excellence.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a supportive school culture.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Experience in pastoral care or form tutoring.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and pedagogical development.
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on cultural and extracurricular enrichment.
