The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Inclusion Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team and help support students with special educational needs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Provide individual or small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Assist with supervision during lunchtimes and other breaks.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop effective strategies for student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to keep them informed of student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Contribute to the overall pastoral care of students and promote a positive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally with special educational needs students.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disability (SEND) support strategies.
  • Experience in a secondary school environment.
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Familiarity with educational software and tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Term-time only working hours (38 weeks), 30 hours per week.
