The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Inclusion Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team and help support students with special educational needs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Provide individual or small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
- Assist with supervision during lunchtimes and other breaks.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop effective strategies for student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to keep them informed of student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Contribute to the overall pastoral care of students and promote a positive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally with special educational needs students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Preferred
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disability (SEND) support strategies.
- Experience in a secondary school environment.
- Previous experience working with young people.
- Familiarity with educational software and tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Term-time only working hours (38 weeks), 30 hours per week.
- Competitive salary based on scale 4, points 8-10.
