The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Media Lead and English Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on student learning. This role involves teaching English at KS3 and KS4, while leading the Media Studies GCSE programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping student engagement and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 classes
  • Take ownership of the Media Studies GCSE, including course design, planning, and delivery
  • Support wider English department planning and curriculum development
  • Mark and record student progress in line with departmental deadlines
  • Prepare and deliver mock exams and coursework assessments
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues
  • Promote a culture of creativity, inclusion, and student well-being
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of being the healthiest school in the country

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A good honours degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience in teaching English and Media Studies at KS3 and KS4
  • Willingness to undertake continued professional development (CPD)

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a GCSE curriculum
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
