The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across all ability levels.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum and recent educational developments.
- Motivate and engage students through innovative teaching strategies and whole-school approaches to learning.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively and consistently.
- Support the school’s ethos and commitment to inclusivity and student achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to share best practices and enhance teaching methods.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to English.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching English to at least Key Stage 4 (KS4).
- In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements.
- Understanding of recent curriculum and learning developments.
- Ability to motivate and engage students across a range of abilities.
- Strong skills in assessing, recording, and reporting student learning.
- Commitment to continuous self-improvement and reflective practice.
- Alignment with the school’s values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multi-academy Trust or similar educational environment.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Experience in pastoral care or student support roles.
