The Opportunity:

As a History and Politics Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students’ understanding of the past and present political systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire critical thinking and academic achievement in a high-performing school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to Key Stage 4 and Politics to Key Stage 5 using the AQA specification.
  • Deliver a curriculum that encourages analytical thinking, evidence-based argumentation, and critical evaluation.
  • Support students of all abilities through differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively using a range of assessment techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s ethos and values.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stage 4 and Politics at Key Stage 5.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and recent curriculum developments.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students across a range of abilities.
  • Effective assessment and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in professional development and leadership within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Twyford Trust and its educational approach.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and working with students with additional needs.
