The Opportunity:
As a History and Politics Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students’ understanding of the past and present political systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire critical thinking and academic achievement in a high-performing school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach History to Key Stage 4 and Politics to Key Stage 5 using the AQA specification.
- Deliver a curriculum that encourages analytical thinking, evidence-based argumentation, and critical evaluation.
- Support students of all abilities through differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively using a range of assessment techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and resources.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s ethos and values.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching History at Key Stage 4 and Politics at Key Stage 5.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and recent curriculum developments.
- Ability to motivate and engage students across a range of abilities.
- Effective assessment and reporting skills.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience in professional development and leadership within a school setting.
- Familiarity with the Twyford Trust and its educational approach.
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and working with students with additional needs.
