The Opportunity:
As Deputy English Curriculum Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the English curriculum at a specific Key Stage. You will work closely with the Director of English to raise standards, enhance teaching and learning, and ensure that students develop the knowledge and skills needed for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and monitor the development of the English curriculum at a specific Key Stage.
- Support the Director of English in raising academic standards and improving teaching and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality across the department.
- Deliver high-quality professional development for English staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Contribute to the overall vision of the school by promoting excellence, inclusion, and justice.
- Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to support student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment practices.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or senior leadership role within a school.
- Experience with curriculum innovation and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with inclusive education and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Experience in working within a large, comprehensive school environment.
