The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving department and contribute to the continued improvement of student achievement at GCSE and A Level. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across the ability range to GCSE and A Level students.
  • Work collaboratively with a strong team of teachers and leaders to support student progress and achievement.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive lessons that reflect the school’s values of Encourage, Challenge, and Succeed.
  • Support the development of students’ literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills through effective teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students as needed, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching and support individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 (GCSE and A Level).
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience with newly qualified teachers or mentoring roles.
  • Experience in a school with a strong Ofsted rating.
  • Experience in a high-achieving, inclusive school environment.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods.
