Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential at all key stages.
- Work collaboratively with senior and middle leadership to drive academic excellence.
- Implement creative and engaging strategies to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
- Support the professional development of English staff within the school.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s teaching and learning framework.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong track record in improving student outcomes in English at all key stages.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the English curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Ability to develop and implement effective departmental strategies.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a large or diverse faculty.
- Familiarity with the ACED teaching and learning framework.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support systems.
- Background in sixth form leadership or teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
